Analysis of The Tornado
Mary Helen Trujillo 1987 (Colorado)
I had a dream of a tornado
It was ripping through the town
My kids were on a Ferris wheel
And I could not get them down
I had a dream of a tornado
It got a little way too close
But in my dream I felt safe
While drowning in the chaos
I had a dream of a tornado
It was quick and full of grace
As it swept into town quickly
And ripped things from their place
I had a dream of a tornado
And it scares me to this day
Because in the end as it turns out
The tornado was just me
