Analysis of We Are Children of the Sun
Karl Constantine FOLKES 1935 (Portland)
Solar phallic force
Penetrating Mother Earth
Impregnating her
Of which we are her children
Her Collective Consciousness.
Solar phallic force
Genetically grounded
In human psyche
As our true heredity
Our Collective Unconscious.
Sun as phallic force
Animating all our moods
Softened by the Moon
Provided to give balance
With synchronistic movement.
Sun as phallic force
With Moon her companion
Offering balance
With a divine “psychoid” as …
A metaphysical realm.
Solar phallic force
Dynamically composed
With intra-psychic factors
To maintain balance
As Divine Intervention.
Solar phallic force
As Divine Intervention
Offering us reflection
Of our self-identity
As psychological beings.
Solar phallic force
Implanted in our psyche
To animate us …
Humanity — her children
In her celestial sphere.
Solar phallic force
We are children of the Sun
All humanity …
Prostrate, and under the Sun
Forever orbiting you.

About this poem
This extended five-stanza Tanka poem entitled “We are Children of the Sun,” is written to suggest that while we reside in a physical material world, “under the Sun,” we are eternally and lovingly guided by a metaphysical, divine “psychoid” force, the Holy Spirit and true Father of Humanity, above and beyond the shining brilliance of the Sun (perceived psychologically as the hypothesized Jungian “psychoid” realm), beyond human perception, human comprehension, and human collective consciousness. We reside under the Sun that itself resides under the Grace and dispensation of the Holy Spirit. more »
