Analysis of (People say) I’m Over It All

Brittany Wilson 1988 (Milwaukee, WI)

People say, “If you need a helping hand, I’m right here.”, only to disappear.

People say, “If you need a listening ear, I’m right here.”, only to use what we say as fuel in a court of public opinion.

People say, “If you need a shoulder to cry on, I’m right here.”, only to laugh & say things like, “get over it.”, & “Aren’t you being a little dramatic?”

Personally, I’m tired of the disappearances, public opinion, & the laughter when people need someone to talk to, someone to listen or someone to lend a shoulder to cry on.
I’m over it all.
