Analysis of Cake Beast

Asleep in my gingerbread house, I heard a bang
At my door was a box, but the bell never rang.
“Hiss and grr”, what could it be?
The creature in the box roared out to me!

I opened the package, and to my surprise
There was a mystical cake hidden inside!
It groaned and grew bigger, with a roar lept at me!
It ate a chunk of my house, what evil could this be?

I cried and a shuttered, in a corner I hid,
Then the cake monster ate gumdrops off my trash lid!
Enough was enough so I grabbed my candy cane sword,
After that cake beast, I raged and I roared!

Crash, bang, and pow! The battle did rage,
Until I smashed the cake beast into a pretzel cage!
I snickered, and laughed, A feast I did eat.
That monster cake tasted great with my fresh roasted meat!

Alas I awoke, in my bed I was free.
I had escaped the cake and realized I was hungry.
I went to the kitchen, I heard a rumble
I ran to my room, I was afraid it was the cake bumble!

It was just mom, She muttered “Go to bed”.
I guess I’ll eat in the morning instead.
Thank God it was a dream, back to sleep I go.
What will I dream about next? Who knows?

About this poem

I had to make up a poem for school and wanted it to be kind of like a fairytale so this is what I ended up with.
