Analysis of Filipina

From the Pearl of the East, a woman hails,
Like me, she loves to walk in holy trails.
While I sleep under a star-spangled sky,
She thinks of me— and to say it is not shy!

The sun never sets in this relationship
For we overwork the computer chips.
By texting and calling at dawn and night
I hope my princess selects me as her knight.

She speaks of the marvels of Asia
From Japan to Mongolia, from Cathay to Malaysia,
I show her a shining, shimmering, New World
All through the transatlantic of my words.

And I had a dream of her.
We let an Eastern Journey to occur.
We walked through the dominions of the Khan
All the way to the city of Xian
While our emissaries of silicon
Sit collecting dust in the long run.

One day there will be no more sea,
No more internet fees,
But only glee
When we grow old
And two stones with mold
Can state “this was a history of true love.”
