Analysis of Time has passed

I can see the time has passed.
Nothing great, ever lasts.
We lost you but your memory lives on.
We said goodbye but you’re not gone.

Thanks to you we have so many memories,
To tell all the stories Would take centuries.
I put pen to paper to write out a few.
But as I started writing the pages just grew.

All of the thoughts Swirled around in my head.
This will be a long one but won’t go unread.
So, here’s to you Mimi the Memories you’ve made.
Etched in our brains to be constantly replayed.
There is a woman We all love.
Her intuition Comes from above.
She loves her family, Just the same.
Mimi Davern, Is her name.

Words of wisdom Strong and true,
People like her, Far and few.
Mouth like a sailor, so quick with a comeback.
Four awesome kids, Laurie, George, Jason and Jack.

So many grandkids, Way too many to name.
One great grandkid. See them all in the frame?
Years of memories made, Hung so nice in the halls.
So many good times, Litter the walls.

All of the memories. How are there so many?
Like learning how to haggle just to save a penny.
Yard sales and flea markets, Hanks for ice cream.
Walks to the lake, almost sounds like a dream.

Dancing on tables and passing out beer,
At the family reunion About once a year.
So many birthdays Celebrated with you.
So many memories Because of it, who knew?!

Remember the time the bathroom fell on my head?
Or how none of us ever Questioned our bed?
Too many people? Not a problem she’d say.
We’ve got couches, floors and tents, more than enough room to play.

With a house full of people, In the kitchen she’d be.
Whipping up meals large enough to feed an army.
Spaghetti and meatballs, Tomato salad galore,
Too full to move, you just fall on the floor.

Garage full of “junk”, Go look through it she’d say.
You’d lift up the doors and for hours you’d stay.
Cards, Jewelry, glasses and Books.
Stacked to the ceiling, that’s just the way it looks.

All the memories made like Conneaut Lake Park
And dancing in the yard Way past dark.
Running through the yard to catch fire flies,
So tired, it was hard to hold open your eyes.

Sleeping on an air mattress On the living room floor.
Watching Nick at Night Till a quarter past four.
Taking a bike ride Down the steep hill,
What about the slip and Slide? Oh, what a thrill!

Or that time you called 911 From the rotary phone
And said you were practicing Cause it’s not like the one at home.
All the McDonalds trips and the toys never got.
The hula hoop contests Where she set up shop.

All of her stories, I’m thankful for those.
Like Mary’s location and out pops a rose.
All the great stories, Told over for years.
All these great memories, Bring laughter and tears.

So many good times we’ll never forget.
So many choices we’ll never regret.
So thank you Mimi, For memories made,
All thanks to you, they will never will fade.
