Analysis of Nouns in Cell Block D

  Before...the Fall
We weren't a cold people
    But simple Noun Distances
Dripped Ice into our veins.

Our Ice had a few viral names.
      (None I can name here)

And their cold seemed harmless
         At first.
   But we got very cold,
        Very fast.

Once, we were told "our Creed"
Was never the kind to make
    Nouns into jails
And then sentence Meanings
      To hard time
Leaving Art, a Convict.

But the Ministry of Truth
  Suddenly became the "Party of
   The Nightly news"
   Always on the prowl
    To punch DOWN

And select our nouns or

Maybe get a few adjectives
  Fired for waving a semicolon
        Flag.
    "'Can't let words just
"Grow" on their own without a minder. That's misinformation."
        they Said.

Still I can remember when
 Adjectives weren't bombs
   And Nouns weren't illegal

I can remember that dissent
     Was once allowed.
   But that was before

Our Freeze became our Fall.

Believe it or not,

Before the Fall, we weren't cold
      Once, Art wasn't for the
   "Party," or the daily "Cause"

Once Words lived here
