Analysis of Temporary home

Shyanna white 1999 (new bern)

A Woman of many words but I say few
What's the point of talking till I turn blue.
Everyone want's to talk, but few want to listen,
so for most of my life I've lived in this invisible prison,
they want to get the depth of my story
so they can get a high for the moment
They want the feeling of self atonement.
Trying to right wrongs that can never be made right again,
that's the price you pay while living in sin.
Two negatives equal a positive
but two wrongs don't make a right
I don't think this is a fair fight
Closed mouths don't get feed
Loose lips get you in trouble
Anger that I've held in for years slips through the cracks,
every outburst I have is worse than the last.
I get lost in thought,
stuck in the past
How long will these memories last?
I pray for peace
I pray for power
But I still get devoured
Lost in a world of my own
I never stay long, this place is not my home
The things I've seen
The burdens I bare
The people that say they care.
Where were you when I sat in the locked, windowless room and heard them speak of how much my life was worth?
Where were you when I was beaten black and blue?
What about when I thought my life was over, but I made it through.
Few were there
Far less cared
Lost and alone, the story of my life
Yet I've always willed myself to fight.
I won't give up
I won't give in
I won't let them win!
