Analysis of Dear Juliet

The poets and dreamers think it romantic,
But love is a cruel, macabre jest.
While love dies, the devils laugh;
As your *Forever* turns to dust.

He should have known you were not dead,
Your body still breathed, your lips still warm.
Juliet, he should have known!
But madness overtook him, his heart was rent and torn.

Young love is a dangerous creature,
Young Romeo. Young Juliet.
But you learned that far too late,
When, with poison on your lips, this knowledge was finally met.

Waking to find your lover dead,
What mortal horror must have overcame thee!
His brow so cold, his lips a violet hue.
You laid upon his sword, with death all you could see.

Oh Romeo, my Romeo, will you not wait for me?
Our lives are forfeit but our death is free!
My heart is pierced, but that's no matter now.
Though it is pierced, it still beats for thee.

Though worlds end and kings fall,
I still will hold your hand!
My love, with galaxies in his eyes
Forever is a short dance, but with you it will not end.

Eternity is a poem; eternity is a song,
And as the world ends, we will dance on and on.
