Analysis of Transitional

On the one hand...
Your devotion and loyalty to me,
Means more than words...
I can find to express.
Yet...
On the other hand?

'Yes?
I have waited for this moment.
So long my service to you,
Is deserving of that raise in pay.
You said I would get one day.
How I have anticipated for years,
To hear it!'

To hear what?

'About my raise!'

Raise?
The only raise you're going to feel and get,
Is my foot up your behind.
And fired!
If ever the next time,
You bring me...
A stale and warm cup of coffee.
And a tasteless muffin,
Pigeons won't even eat.
You got that?

'But...
What about my devotion and loyalty?
Doesn't that mean anything to you?'

Sure.
As long as that loyalty is devoted,
To serving me and my needs.
What or who do you take me for?
Someone thoughtful, understanding?
And dare I say...considerate of others?
Where on Earth have you been?
Lieing to yourself,
Like I have been lieing to you?
Go fetch me that coffee.
And it better be fresh.
Or out through the front door,
You will go next.
Unless...
You wish to be escorted?
Like the others who have confessed,
Such nonsense and meaningless B.S.
Why are you still standing there?
Looking as if disappointed.
When I tasted that coffee earlier today,
Disappointment attacked me...
Like an angry backstabber!
Taking their pointless revenge out on me.
Can you believe it?
Go...and...fetch...my...COFFEE!
Where do you ungrateful people come from?
And please don't say,
Women are from Venus and men...
The dumb ones, are from Mars.
Although there may be some truth to that.

'I thought you were...'

What?
Different?
I am.
Too generous and giving of my intellect!
Listen...
Brew the coffee.
Make sure it is fresh.
And bring it to me as quick as you can.
Smiling!

'Oh...yes.
Would you prefer a slice,
Of your favorite chocolate cake?
The chef baked it yesterday.
And left it in the kitchen this afternoon.'

And...
You stood there.
Knowing that all this time.
You stood there like a drug pusher,
Knowing my craving for chocolate cake.
Awaiting to use as a weapon against me.
Knowing...
One taste would leave me defenseless.
Weak and meek.

'Stop.
Stop your crying!
You want the cake or not?'

Yes. Yes, please.
Don't tease me this way.
What do you want me to do?
I'll do anything!

'I want a raise.
Three weeks of vacation.
In advance.
With your signature approving this.
Now!
You got that?'

Okay.
Okay!
But...
Please, let's keep this to ourselves.

'Should I repeat,
I am loyal and devoted?
And know a few tricks of the trade!
Boss!'
