Analysis of Hexagonal Eyes

Claudia Krizay 1956 (Washington DC)

I scream. Hear my cries-
You are the dark demon
With hexagonal eyes- into which I peer…
A lost child, alone and depleted,
I am inundated by your stares.

The malice in your eyes
Contrasts with that innocent façade
I once so deeply believed in.
Your agonizing stares
Have snatched away my pride.

You come from some other world
So far away-
Once captivated with your uniqueness,
I am sinking into a bloodbath,
My soul, wracked with pain-
Feeling none but anger and disdain.

I read animosity through
The whites of your eyes-
Through those cruel, hexagonal eyes…You lie,
You lie…
An evil sorcerer from
a land beyond the skies,
I once believed to be magical-

Thunder claps.  Now you are gone,
I remain, blinded by the starlight,
Never again to be cursed
By your tainted glare…

Rain begins to fall, stealing away my wrath
While returning to my freedom and power.
You are the dark demon
With hexagonal eyes,
Fading into the night’s skies,
Never again to see the light.

Can you still hear my silent cries?
