Analysis of But What If.........
Norma Suddard 1940 (Canada)
Tilting on its' axis it hangs there in space
spinning faster and faster each year it seems
and we take for granted this earthly place
will always be there for us as human beings.
But what if:
It should one day tilt too far
and slip from its' spot in the Universe
spinning toward some distant star
caused by cataclysmic / curse or worse
OR://
an asteroid on a deadly path
spinning toward some distant star
no weapons know to stop this terrible wrath
caused by cataclysmic pause/or worse.
Earth hangs precariously dangling there in space
as it has done for billions of years
but What If: just one of those things
it would serve as of of mankind's greatest fears.
Terra Firma 'neath our feet
taken for granted .....one should not
for one day it will disappear - tout suite!
we are racing against...a deadly clock.

About this poem
This poem came out of nowhere like many others of my poems. Have no idea where this one came from I refer to it as My Doomsday poem. It like so many of my poems are so varied and sometimes even surprise me.
