Analysis of Addictions
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
There is no easy way,
To end addictions that begin...
With a dependency on them.
Immediately to notice,
An affect expected to intend it.
Leaving the cost and its expense,
Even more difficult to explain...
What was done to benefit who.
And the proof the provides,
Evidence of reason and why...
Decades of time wasted to go by,
Without the addicts improving...
Their way of life.
Yet those sent to end their addictions,
Have managed to live lives...
High on imported,
Prioritized necessities.
To claim the use needed,
Would inspire the ones addicted to find...
What they see on TV is fiction.
And...
What they observe to witness,
Given to them...
Is reality!
'I...uh...think,
There is something about our approach...
That has been completely misunderstood.'
'Hmmm...
You might have a point.
Perhaps...
And this is just a thought.
Perhaps...
We should just up and leave.
That will teach them a lesson or two!'
'I...uh...think,
Without questioning...
Neither your intelligence or wisdom.
And...
Those lightening fast flashes of brilliance.
However...
Those one or two lessons,
They were taught to learn?
Had them addicted to a way of life,
We convinced them they could get.
If they assisted us in addicting more,
Of their own people to 'our' way of life!'
'I know that and you know that.
But...
Do they know what we know to know it?
NO!
And nor do they realize,
You and I like the others...
Are entitled to lie and deceive people.'
'I prefer to call it, 'Conceptual Reality'.'
'Either way...
Addictions sold to tell them told,
Is a doing to give others HOPE!'
'And hope does what to folks drugged up?'
'Dupe them into dopes.'
'So...
When they are left with their addictions,
And for decades...
Continue to ignore them for what they are.
Or the truth and reality of them taught?
Even a sweetness of anything that's given,
Should make anyone suspicious of it.
Geeessshhh...
Take it but don't make it a habit.
Especially if you ain't paying for it.'
'Are not or aren't.'
'Are not or aren't.
If you improve upon your grammer.
And the explanation,
Of the incorrectness of its usage?
Then and only then...
Your approach to teaching,
Maybe found more receptive.
With that done to do,
Without biting on your lips like that.
And attempting to enforce fear,
As if the squinting of your eyes...
While moving your head slowly,
From right to left...
Gets a meaningful message delivered!'
'Come.
Come closer.'
'Why?
You're making me nervous.'
'Never.
Ever.
Fear the ways of my love to express.
And how,
I would like now to share it addressed.'
'Let's not do anything we both will regret!'
'Trust me.
Regret?
Regret is the furthest thing from my mind.
