Analysis of Eternal Winter

For them it would be eternal winter
hibernating in shells forgotten from way too far long ago.
Frozen, frost-like, perhaps infinitely and forever
in suspended suspicions that grew cold and went nowhere.
Held in one final lasting subliminal breath
between a sanctimonious life and a now near heroic death
like hanging angels in frigid animation unto themselves.
Lost in love’s lingering lethargic limbo, voiceless, unthreatening;
lifeless little elves superbly decked out in pristine innocent white;
crystaline crumbs drifting off into space
and left out in the sub-zero cold we’re told
with no resolution or premonition left in sight,
on a direct path going somewhere but nowhere, trajectory unknown.
Out of alledgedly harm’s way but not out of harm,
waiting only for some gravitational rescue, perhaps a meterorite
or some far-out alien intervention that could possibly save them
from the frigid winter’s shivery bite
or by their own indefinite and enslaved alarm
that could take thousands, perhaps millions of years to unfold
from the cold and superficially, artificially generated ice.

Four men, four women frozen like popsicles together as one
in the unison of a matrimonious heavenly embrace,
in a room full of hellish winter and the fading warmth of the sun
that now or for ever can never be cancelled or undone;
married in perpetuity in cryogenetic, apocalyptic
perpetual gloom & doom;
drifting indefinitely, infinitely, subliminally
in their remote and chilling orbits, entombed
some place in everlasting history
somewhere way out there deep in space
forever destined to become a podcast, a mystery
cruising around aimlessly in place amongst the stars.
Yes, they finally made it to the stars… Good luck, they’ll need it!
A lifetime spent in nocternal winter, but unlike no other;
In eternal darkness, but just like every other.
Astronauts, modern day argonauts sequestered & driven
like juggernauts on their final way home to the stars.
In search of an unlikely new planet to call home, they volunteered!
So off they’ve gone, alienated and alone,
into the everlasting infinite penetrating darkness
of the frost-bit and forever feverless parsecs
of universal time and the inestimable intergalactic unknown.
(In search of an unlikely new planet… “to call home”).
