Analysis of Follow The Bubbles

There was a story in the news
A man died under the stars
Drowned face down in an inch of water
On a rainy night outside a bar

I asked my daddy about it
Impossible to believe
He said it's true, it could happen
It's about being able to breathe

My whole life, I avoided puddles
Enter at your peril, or else
You might fall in, but it's all in
How you position yourself

And then I met you
Each ripple reflected upset
I nearly drowned in your eyes
Though my toes never even got wet

If death be my wish
I'll feed those fish
Sharks lurking in your blue
Should I so desire
To drown I'll require
A drowning pool deeper than you

There's wormwood in those waters
There's tonic in that gin
I left poison puddles behind
And taught myself to swim

Hold your breath, follow the bubbles
From the depth of that sea down there
Follow those bubbles, reach for the stars
Beathe that cleansing air

My whole life, I avoided puddles
Enter at your peril, or else
You might fall in, but it's all in
How you position yourself

Now I'm living in the Living Waters
I go dancing in the rain
A mermaid, an amphibian
Salt water running through my veins

Sometimes it leaks right down my cheeks
From heart through eyes to a cleansing shore
I cry all night, but it's all right
That's what Living Waters are for

My whole life, I avoided puddles
Enter at your peril, or else
You might fall in, but it's all in
How you position yourself

Streams don't try to carry themselves
They move freely, naturally
Tugboats, ships, and popsicle sticks
Come to float carefree with me

I am mermaid, I am amphibian
Fish live in my veins
Living in the Living Waters
Come, dance with me in the rain
Come, swim with me in the rain

My whole life, I avoided puddles...
