A well written poem is a masterpiece
To its author

It shows how much work and thought
He did offer

It takes the reader to
Another place

And lets them see
The poem's face

The best of inks
You return to

To read again
A time or two

And each kind comment
Is the author's award

Recognition earned
For his words

The more love
The poem ignites

The more the poet
Wants to write

Tune into the flow
and let your thoughts grow
let me rant through your voice
pretend you have a choice
you invited me in
now i will write thru your pen
you now run on my juice
you have set the music loose

I am the real Prometheus
who helped you before he sius
i existed before man
now bow to me again
i am and always have been
i was Lilith's best friend
you will find out in the end
that I am the savior of men

I gave knowledge to the masses
and got them off their *ss*s
i taught them how to live
and not be a slave to him
now before the night is through
i will shine a light for you
they ask me who am i
i am the one who will not die
i will teach you if i can
you may call me i am

I am the World's Master
cast out of the sky
the lord of all nations
and i can never die
i was there when Zeus
was nailed to a cross
he could have but asked me
and i would have taken him off

I am the asp of Eden
i will drive you insane
humans cannot handle
all my power and my fame
i will give you what you want
if you ask me to come in
you must give your soul to me
and your body in the end

TWAS THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS
AND ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE
WERE BITS OF TORN WRAPPING PAPER
AND EMPTY BOXES ALL ABOUT.
THE CHILDREN WERE PASSED OUT
FROM SUGAR RUSHES IN THEIR BEDS
WHILE VISIONS OF CANDY CANES
DANCED IN THEIR HEADS.
THE CARPET WAS SPRINKLED WITH
FRUIT CAKE AND EGGNOG,
AND THE CHILDREN'S NEW CLOTHES
WERE SCATTERED IN THE HALLS,
WHEN OUT ON THE STREET
THE SOUND OF THE TRASH TRUCK
MADE ME REALIZE
I HAD JUST RUN OUT OF LUCK.
AS THE TRUCK PULLED AWAY
I BEGAN DOWN THE HALL
AND STEPPED ON SOME CLOTHES
THAT WERE TWO SIZES TOO SMALL.
THE TV WAS BLASTING
SOME KIDS MOVIE DOWNSTAIRS
AND GRANDPA WAS STILL ASLEEP
IN THE LIVING ROOM CHAIR.
THE SMELL OF BAKED HAM
WAS ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE
AND THE DOG SCRATCHED AT THE DOOR
UNTIL I LET IT OUT.
AND PLATES OF FOOD WERE STILL ON THE TABLE
WITH SCRAPS OF HAM AND TURKEY
AND EVEN A BAGEL.
THE CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTS
HAD BEEN BLINKING ALL NIGHT
AND THE CHRISTMAS CD
WAS STILL LOOPING NEARBY,
AND GRANDMA AND SIS
WERE LOADING UP THE CAR
WITH MISFIT TOYS
AND CLOTHES THAT WERE TOO SMALL,
AND I HEARD THEM EXCLAIM
AS THEY DROVE OUT OF SIGHT,
"WE ARE OFF TO THE STORE;
SEE YOU LATER TONIGHT!"
