I have been writing poetry since I was a little girl. I like to sing and travel. I am in the cosmetology and real estate fields. I like to decorate inside and outside the house. I love planting and growing flowers. My favorite are roses. My Mom and I visit the sick in the hospitals and rest homes. I have had some of my poems published by The National Library of Poetry. I have made and read poems for my church ever since I was a little girl. I plan on getting more of my poems published by The National Library of Poetry.

Love of Doc King

Love seems far, but so near
it's something that can last many of years.
It's a feeling inside that we can't explain.
But it's something we feel when we
hear a certain person's name.
Love is a feeling that many of people share.
It shows an emotion, which let people
know someone cares. When you think of
Love you think of beautiful things.
Such as birds and trees.
And even a man who said let freedom ring.
This man was a God-chosen man
who had a love for all people.
Black, white, rich or poor.
This man fought for their freedom within a war.
He fought until he died, but that's
ok because even though he's dead.
He's still alive in many of people's
heads. God took him on in that big
blue sky. And many of people wondered why.
He was Doctor Martin Luther King Jr.
The man who said let freedom ring.
