Our Destiny

Someday we shall meet again
Once again and when we do
No way to regain
The love we have slain
Love that grew
Untrue.

Then we reflect
And make believe
Passion we reject
And also neglect
Once we receive
A sigh and a heave.

Someday we shall meet again
We did-do not deny
Each boarded a train
No lover's lane
For you and I
So both said, "Goodbye."

Where I Am

I knew no death
Nor any sorrow
Until I came to live
In this new world
Earth, it is
Where creatures learned not to give.

This land of faith
And land of hope
As it is supposedly be.
What you call your life
And I call mine
Is less than I want for me.

Thoughts of Life After Death

Done with life, I sit in my grave
Waiting to leave this world.
The next world will welcome me
As I will welcome it.

The velvet lining on my casket
Feels hard and brittle against me
Compared to what I'm used to.
I think I mess life.

Heaven will take me with open arms
And I will jump at the chance.
But I wonder if I can be truly happy
If my real love is merely living.
