Warren has been writing poetry for 20 years. A long haul truck driver from California, he recently moved to Alaska and is awe struck with all the beauty. The Library of Poetry has published several of his poems and he has one collection out entitled "La Book." Warren believes that every person is put into his life for a reason and no matter what the reason may be, he learns from each and every experience. He is also a firm believer that everyday is a beautiful day and some days are more beautiful than others. |
Where Were You?When I took sick and stayed in bedNot one call to check if I was alive or dead. When you were lonely, I was always there But for me nobody would ever dare. I sat and made sure to share my car When I needed help, it was always too far. Sometimes, didn't have any, but always shared money When I was down and out, no help, real funny. I eat alone in restaurants, my holiday meals Had you over, cupboards were bare, no big deal. Over the years, had problems of my own Helped solved yours, could have left you alone. Where were you? When I needed a hug You wanted to quit, I gave you another tug. You are always sure to tell about the picnic in the park Never asked me along, next I knew it was dark. Love to hear about your walk in the rain Inside me, hidden away, lies a lot of pain. Talk to myself, no one ever listens Love to hear your story of how the snow glistens. Ever ask about my deepest fear? No! guess not, you are too busy to hear. New job coming up, have jitters, what do you care? Bought you a cup of coffee, talked, just to be there. Why is it taking so long? To get a pat on the back When for you, many the time I did just that. I realize you have a life of your own Yet I have feelings too, and am here all alone. I have always been there, just to be Where were you? when it comes to me. |
