Voula Viglis

Brooklyn, New York

Voula is presently an eighth grader at the Dimitrios & Georgia Kaloidis school in Brooklyn, New York. She attends this Greek American facility with her twin brother, Dimitri. The twins both have been members of this community since their birth in 1983. An enormous part of Voula's life is her family. They have been very supportive in both major and minor events that have taken place for Voula throughout the years. Voula's family has provided her with endless opportunities that will set the pace for future prosperity. In addition, Voula is also grateful for her Teachers. Her teachers have helped her advance academically and gave her, her first chance to write poetry. Her friends brighten each day with their cheerful dispositions that she appreciates always. Voula's friends are trustworthy and very proud of all her accomplishments. Voula dedicates her poetry to her family for always being there, her teachers for helping her expand her knowledge of everything including the real world, her friends who she grew up with and finally and most importantly to God... "for blessing me with this talent and all the wonderful things in my life."

Peace

Peace is love,
Peace is bold,
But Stubbornness
May make you a foe.
My mind is mixed up
Of why war takes place,
When problems can be solved
With love and peace.
Our world deserves peace
With all it's gone through,
And we the young
Are the ones who will
Make it come true.
My country may be peaceful,
But some countries are in war.
My love I send out
And prayers to all.

Love

Love is Beauty,
Love is Grand,
It is a duty,
That many have had.
It brings thy happiness,
It brings thy joy,
Thy love for someone,
I always show.
Thy love I cannot hide,
But thy shyness may be the foe.
However, thy still young.
And have a lot more to love.

God

God gave us life,
God gave us love,
He gave us light
To see what we can do.
He gave us our knowledge,
Our family and friends,
God is the creator
From ocean to land.
My love for Him
Is increased everyday,
For He is my friend,
And family each day.
I pray for myself,
I pray for the world
For He is the Father
The Son and all.
