Vivian Kohler

Gilbert, Arizona, USA

Vivian began writing poetry in the early marriage years. She feels that her expressions relative to love, beauty, integrity and truth, are directed toward fundamental subjects. She retired after a career in Computing Applications and Productions Services at Arizona State University. She is an active member of her church and another "at home" hobby is playing the organ. Vivian has had her poetry published by The National Library of Poetry and has also published an anthology of poetry that is perceived as a refreshing, illustrious, and uplifting piece of work entitled, "Along the Garden Path," Owings Mills, MD: Watermark Press.

Newborn

For now you are our little one,
To share and love 'til day is done,
Your hurt to kiss, to bring you bliss,
It's plain to see, our hearts you've won.
Each day is filled with work, ev'n night,
Though when it's done, we reap delight
The smile you wear makes small our care
And lifts us to the mountain height.
New dawns are bright with eagerness.
You zeal and jest and happiness
Quiets our hearts as the sunrise
Stills and fulfills it's morning quest.
Thus, doldrum's cure is naught but cling
To bright thoughts you so timely bring,
Your cheerful face reflects God's grace
With love forever encircling!

Love Sees

Love sees beyond beauty,
For that becomes undone,
Inside faded, tired eyes,
Reflections of wisdom!
Love sees beneath the sheath
Of harsh word now and then,
And into the depth and
Warmth of redeeming tone!
Love lingers through all stages
Of every season,
Enduring through each sign
Of wonder and reason!

Prayer Of The Wavering

Be patient Lord, though arrogantly we stride,
Blinded to the pitfalls of so false a pride.
Forgive us Lord, for ignoring proper chide,
Entering into carnal doors open wide.
So obvious that somehow we've missed access,
Detoured through the world's secular choices,
To find us stranded in life's deep wilderness,
Oh God, take our dismays, lift our transgresses.
We've condoned our mistakes with little disgust,
Let not that continue, redirect our thrust,
Knowing your basic rule and absolute must
Is that life is made up of but Faith and Trust!
