My mother and father came from a very small island called St. Kitts. The
people there spoke French in some parts of the country. My father and mother
left the country and came to America. They married and had me and my brother.
I'm sorry to say they are dead now. I was born in the USA on Feb. 11, 1933.
I graduated from elementary school and from high school (Central Commercial).
I got a job in a mailing department. I received low wages. I met my husband
and then got married on May 24, 1958. I had a daughter on Oct. 15, 1959.
I retired from work in 1984. I am not a college graduate. I am not born
with fame. I am just an ordinary person. I write poetry from everyday living.
