Venkata Chalapathi Majeti, son of Subrahmanya Sastry and Krishna Kumari, was born and raised in Nuzvid, Andhra Pradesh, India. He grew up as an engineer in the corridors of Bell Laboratories, Naperville, Illinois, USA. Venkata writes poems as a diversion to the technical discussions in daily life. Venkata is grateful to family members, friends and relatives around the world for their support and encouragement. |
SilenceAt first, there was absolute silence. And at least, there was absolute silence. In between, it's a(n) Emotional silence, that'd kill with bare hands Attentive silence, absorbed in the environment Thoughtful silence, wallowing and preparing Embezzled silence, bored in self indulgence Quiet silence, uncomfortable and unwanted Subdued silence, waiting in the wings Meditative silence, which can move heaven and earth Dogmatic silence, enough said about it Comforting silence, no words could describe it In this communicative silence, Someone, Say something Or, not. |
GatherersOn a lone star nightPerched atop the mountain hill Tucking into the hibernation hole Meet again, for one more time The Gatherers With all their minds fused In all but one thought To produce a loment That spreads like wild fire To raise, raise, & raise again Only to divide And To gather For the next coming. Hey, this is fun. |
The House SpeaksIt's a mid winter nightThe clock reads 2:01 Obviously, everyone's asleep And, of course, I'm awake. Awaken, I don't know if By the quiet but all the same Distinct sounds of a distant train. By the water boiler next door Heating, quiet cooling, heating again By the discrete bursts from Heating vents, bringing warm comforts By the background music of droplets Of rain - on the roof, glass windows outside Or by the inexplicably silent rays Of light from a bulb on through the night Who knows, but for the uninvited guest That came in and opened the suitcases? And then A house within a house speaks Did you hear that? |
