Thanh, son of late Poet Doc-Cuoc, has been writing poetry since 60's. A former manager of Vietnam Thuong-Tin Bank, Saigon, he's now an accountant for Lawyers Title, Houston, Texas.Degree in Law, U.Saigon (1970), Postgrad. U.Tennessee (1978). Who's Who in America 88-89; Who's who in the World, 15th Edition 96.Thanh has had his poetry published in Reader's Digest, Tu-Do, Con-Ong, Van Nghe (Houston,) Lang-Van, Van-Hoc, VNTienPhong and by The National Library of Poetry (US)-Editor's Choice awards 94,95. Pen names: Thanh-Nguyen, Troi-Dong, Nguoi-Xu-Thai, T.Nguyen.Thanh says, "I believe in family values and traditions. I write for the Love of my wife Minh-Chau, my children Hoang-Yen, Hoang-Dan and my beloved Vietnam". |
From Vietnam To AmericaIn Houston, men killed their own children,In Saigon, boys killed and robbed Got life in prisons. Right here, wives left their husbands... And mourned their children's deaths, Over there, girls sold their bodies Every nights on streets. From Vietnam, Do my people have to pay that much, For the stupid Communists and "United," To America, Do my people have to pay that much, From the sake of freedom and dollars, From Vietnam to America, Do my people have to go that far? |
