I have been writing poems and songs since I was a teenager.  I have work published in The National Library of Poetry, Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum and the Famous Poet Society books.  I was awarded a Merit and Editor Choice Award from the National Library of Poetry. In addition to poetry, I have written and published numerous songs through Nashville with independent recording companies.  Commendations received for songwriting are: and award of recognition for "Band of Gold" which I received another award from the International Star Music Society for this song being placed in the top 500 on the independent country charts outside the U.S.  In 1997, I was invited to return to Nashville on September 26, 1998 to accept an achievement award for writing the song, "You Didn't Hug Me."  Currently, Nashville is recording additional songs I have written titled "He Cries Mama and Daddy," "It's Over in Her Heart," and "Who's Gonna Tell My Heart."  Writing poetry and songs are a favorite past time/ hobby for me as well as playing the guitar and fishing.  I also have a fulltime job of which I do commercial and residential painting.  I am a born again Christian and am an active member of my church.  I have a wonderful and loving church family with a pastor who believes in preaching the Word of God as It is written. None of the above would have been possible had the Lord Jesus Christ not been a part of my life.  Since accepting Him as my Savior, he has made a new person of me and has opened up doors that I could have never opened on my own.  Remember this passage:"With God all things are possible."  Matthew 19:26.  My goal in life is to reach out to as many unsaved people I can and tell them about Jesus Christ.

Happy Birthday America

Let's celebrate our nation on this fourth of July
for our American soldiers the ones that fought and died
they did it for our freedom to give us privileges and rights
let's thank those brave Americans yes the soldiers of the night
from the time we crushed Napoleon in a place called Waterloo
to the South Pacific islands their honor shined right through
from the wastelands of Korea to the rice fields of Viet Nam
to the desert sands of Kuwait and every war under the sun
Happy Birthday America for all you've given me
from every mountain, field and valley reaching out to the sea
from the streams to the rivers from the rivers to the lakes
to those men that sailed the waters who did it for our sakes
OH! America we salute you for the great things you have done
and the courage of the men for the battles they have won
now we should never take for granted this great day of July
the birthday of this  country for the men that gave their lives
they did for our freedom in liberty in which it stands
to protect and serve our nation the one God made by his hand.

The Soldiers

The soldiers went into battle as
the skies of blue turned gray
can't remember if it was in April
or was it in the month of May
The soldiers were fighting for something
for a cause they did not know
some where saying it was for the hill of glory
as the skies of the night begun to glow
The soldiers heard some distant cries
as some of them heard loud screaming
All they could do is fight for their lives
And wishing that they were only dreaming
The soldiers lost a lot that day
As the battle of war went on
And after the war was over
There were only memories to be known

Band of Angels

I was going through the battle facing life in a world of sin
Traveling the road of confusion that old devil had me in
I was blinded by the darkness not knowing where to go
Until I met a man named Jesus my dear Lord
Would you forgive me for my sins is a prayer I know he heard
I then felt his awesome presence lifting burdens off of me
He took away the darkness shed his light and set me free

God sent his band of angels I could feel them in the air
With the glory of the Holy Ghost God showed how much he card
I was painted by his cleansing blood he poured on me from above
When Jesus that precious son of his gave me mercy grace and love
So I want to thank you Father for all you've done for me
And thank you for your Holy son the one that died at
Calvary

Band of angels all around me with the lord upon my side
When I asked him for my salvation his love he did not hide
He took my sins to the cross so I'll be praising in his name
Thank you dear Lord Jesus for freeing me of my  shame

That old devil had me lost and hurting and wounded by his game
Until I met my Savior Jesus now it's his glory I do proclaim
