Kokomo, Indiana

Born: 12-06-74
I have been writing poetry for three years. I like to write about life, love, daily routines, friends, family, work, nature and my pets. I have been published by The National Library of Poetry and they recorded one of my poems on a cassette. I have just finished my first book, untitled, and hope to be recognized for my work and become published. Writing poetry is way for me to escape and express my true feelings. Writing poems makes me feel peaceful within myself.

Petals Blowing Through the Wind

Petals blowing through the wind
from the roses you gave me last weekend
You hurt me and lied, I won't forget
Ever giving my love to you, I regret
I thought you were someone I could love and trust
Now I know our love wasn't love but lust
Goodbye to these little reminders, blowing
through the wind.

The Room

If I let you peer through the windows of my
heart you'll see scars from the past relationships
and wounds that never healed cover the walls.
Pictures of old memories are hung up all around.
Piles of yesterday's loves fill the laundry basket
in the corner. In the trash are pieces of shattered
dreams that got swept away. Off to the side is a
room full of sadness and beside it a room full of
happiness. Lying on the floor in a blanket of hope
that I curl up in after a long day. If I let
you peer through the window of my heart you'll see.....

Rose

Love grows up and breaks through
a crack in the ground. Growing stronger
with every tear dropped from the angels
in the sky. Growing more and more with
each tender stroke of the sun: Love grows
And blossoms into something beautiful and
bold. Love starts to wither and turn ugly
as things turn grey and cold. A soft
White blanket comes down and wraps
around love. Love lies down on the
blanket and peacefully dies.
