I was born on March 13, 1967 in New York. I married Jonathan in April, 1996. I have been writing poetry since childhood. I have been visually impaired since birth. I graduated with a B.S. in Human Services from Lesley College. I have one poem published and another soon to be, with the National Library of Poetry. My poetry is written from life experiences. My blindness has enabled me to be a caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental person. I feel that all people no matter able or challenged deserve to have a chance to reach their full potential.

What The Dead Must Know

I sit here among the graves
reflecting on life
I sit among the dead and think about life.
It is so peaceful here
only the birds, the wind and the
mosquitoes
I long for the kind of life the dead know
The eternal life
without pain
without fear
only with love
I long for the day when I too can share
in this special uncontested love
in the joy of knowing that I am free.

I am a tree

I am firmly rooted in the ground.
My roots are large and strong.
My branches reach high to God,
my power
They extend and extend.
I feel safe in God's hands and
in His universe.
I am tall and powerful,
in this...
His creation.

Dreams

When there is no hope
no will to go on
there are only dreams,
cause dreaming's all you can be sure
of in a world so full of sin.
When life gets you down
and there is no light in sight
dreaming's all you can do to keep
the light of life burning bright,
cause dreaming's all you can be sure
of in a world so full of sin.
When the world takes away
all the things you cherish
and you can't find your way
keep the dreams alive
to help get through the day,
cause dreaming's all you can be sure
of in a world so full of sin.
