I've been writing poetry since my twenties. It is like a time of solitude to me. I was born in a hollow in the hills of Bono, Arkansas in 1949 to a family of ten. My father was a farmer. I attended an all-girl's school. I took nurses aide, art and meat cutting and wrapping. I have awards and lots of blue ribbons for art. I am working on publishing a complete book of my poetry or sayings. I have written poetry for different occasions. I have made cards and painted pictures on them. I was a Care Service Worker and a nurses aide for a long time. I have two children, a son, Jack Hemphill, and a daughter, Keana Maine, and one grandson, Troy Dean Osborne.

Untitled

Life is full of miracles.
Life you should take things as they come.
Have quiet time by yourself.
Do things that make you happy.
Work hard at things you do.
Down life's path we go.
Life's Battles.
Life's storms
Life of challenges
Face life's tests
Life's gold
Final road of life.

Bird of Freedom

A bird that some have never felt.
Invisible is he.
Bird so freely has He
That no one can see
Spiritually he flies around
Waiting for all to share
He is the bird of God
Freedom bird is he.
Both riches and honor
Come of thee.
Just believe in the freedom bird.
Holy spirit the bird of God.
Because he is the Lord's
Over all is he.

Heart of Dreams

Give me a dream of my own
To keep in my heart.
That will never part
For dreams are many things.
That go on all through life
God put dreams in your
Heart so get up and fight
Because there is no doubt
Your dreams won't come true
If you don't make it a golden rule
That is why dreams
Just come true for a few
So keep a dream in your heart
For dreams are yours
So grow old with them
And never let them part.
