Sharyn Harms

Sharyn is a Fifth Grade Teacher in Alpha, New Jersey. She has been writing poetry for approximately two years and is a Distinguished Member of The International Society of Poets. She is an active member of her church and praises God for her gift of poetry. Sharyn has published her first book of poetry entitled To God Be The Glory and is currently working on her second book. She has had numerous poems published by The National Library of Poetry. Sharyn writes Christian poetry and feels that through her gift she has the opportunity to help others reflect on God.

"Goodbye For Now"

I know that one day I shall be,
In Heaven, safe, in the arms of Thee.

I only pray that when my death takes place,
That my family feels your love and your grace.

You see, Lord, I'm not afraid to die,
I will be ready when you hear my cry.

So, please Dear Lord, fulfill our plan,
All that I ask, is that you take my hand.

I feel that the end is so very near,
But, because of your promise, I have no fear.

I hope my family can find happiness too,
By praying for peace and contentment from you.

I know, for sure, that I'll miss them all,
When you take me for that final call.

But, I know, that someday my family will be,
Side-by-side, in Heaven, with me.

"The Master Plan"

The one thing about suffering, you see,
Is that the bad always brings the good out in me.
It makes me realize how very blessed I am,
When I return to my Father once again.
Sometimes you need to leave home to realize how good it looks,
You can't learn that kind of value by reading it in books.
The Father lets us journey a little way,
But, He always watches us day-by-day.
He loves to see us as we grow in Him,
Because that is truly how our spiritual life does begin.
He promises He won't give us more than we can take,
But, He doesn't say that we won't truly break.
By breaking us down He intercedes,
We need to know what He felt like to bleed.
You see, our Father, suffered in pain,
But, His suffering was not totally in vain.
He gave His life so that we might live,
It was His master plan for our sins to forgive.

"Predestiny Of The Lord"

God's commitment to us begins at birth,
For only God truly knows our value and worth.
He predestines us to what He wants, you see,
For only God knows what is to be.
He molds us and shapes us over the fire,
Helping us to deal with each and every desire.
He doesn't promise us an easy trip,
Or that He won't let us simply backslide or slip.
He does promise He won't give us more than we can handle,
And He truly provides the spark and the candle,
By giving us the Spirit and the light,
We have all the weapons we need for the fight.
All we need to do is to trust and obey,
To always complete and fulfill things God's way.
