Sally Davis

Cheltenham, UK

I was born 19th Nov. 1954 in Cheltenham. My parents both still live in Cheltenham. Their names are Mr. Heinz Gintaut and Irene Gintaut, my mothers maiden name was Winston. I am one of four sisters: June, Ruth both older than myself and one younger by 4 years named Susan. I went to Bibury Infants School and then to Charlton Kings Secondary Modern. I've had a very simple background, living in the country when a small child. My parents moved to Cheltenham when I was about 10 years old. I think living in the country must have influenced some of my poetry which I feel and write now. I am divorced and have no children. My poetry and my work in sales are great healers through the journey of life. I hope also that others will enjoy reading and being able to relate to my work which is felt from the heart.

The River of Life

Flow flow flow,
How gentle it is
Ripple here ripple there
It narrows it curves it's
up and down.
Then suddenly it's very fast
Out of control, almost
Yes there's a bridge to cross,
It's white and frothy and quite
Different,
From the very gentle stream
That the river had started from.
The beginning of life
The middle of life
And the bridges to be crossed
During life

Butterfly

Butterfly, butterfly,
Hopping, fluttering, colours
Why won't you stay for a while?
You look so pretty
sitting still in the
bright sunshine
foliage green, wings bright.
Stay oh! Stay!
My pretty butterfly.
Be my friend for a
moment longer
than a moment.

Jazz

Jazz the ritz
And the glamour,
The razzmatazz.
The sounds that one hears
Takes you to another realm,
The tones
The bass, trumpet and drums
Each has a sound
Very much to one's
Ear to please.
Pleasure of Jazz
Razzmatazz
Jazz Jazz Jazz.

Lotti Madness

Life is a lottery,
Lottery Madness,
Lottery tessa's savings, love, money galore,
Lotta bottle we must have,
Lotta things to do
Lotta things to cope with in the great lottery of life.
Take the bottle
In your hand, and you will succeed
in the biggest lottery of all,
life.
Precious, demanding
Hard work.
The greatest gift,
The lottery of life.
