Scattered ThoughtsA child's innocenceA baby's soft cry The calm before a storm... A sunrise at dawn A rainbow in the sky The sun to keep us warm A sunset at dusk A bird on the wing The touch of your hand... A summer breeze A walk on the beach Waves caressing sand A gentle kiss A hug from a child The fragrance of a rose... An unexpected smile A call from a friend The beauty of Winter snows |
SunsetThe golden sun hangs heavy in the West;it's glowing rays leap upward tightly hugging the horizon, ever clinging while slowly sinking downward - Trying to hold on to the day as darkness gradually settles around us replacing the light we wish would stay - Ah, but order of the universe rules; Alas! man with all his technology can't change it with his tools. |
The ColonelQuietly you slipped your surly bondsat night; too long entrapped within a weakened vessel; all bands now severed, released...your soul took flight without contention; you bade this earth farewell - for a better place I'm told; somewhere in space, a new dimension; your spirit soars above the clouds, no doubt...where space is your domain, you now effortlessly walk about. No walls or doors to confine or close you in; you're free to roam the starry bliss at will or wander...and gaze at sights of which I've only dreamed or read, but often ponder, before your final flight my chance to say goodbye was nil; I hope you understand and know I care - So at this time I'll simply say farewell, and try to verify you where abouts...and wish you well. |
