Garden City, New Jersey, USA

My name is Pierre-Richard Raymond. I am an educator and a contributing producer of a renowned TV show on WNYX (La Lanterne Haitienne) aired in New York, Florida, and Atlanta. I have been a member of National Library of Poetry for five years. I published my first book of poetry in 1994, entitled "Butterfly". I am currently working on my second one entitled "Wide Open". My interest for poetry started at an early age and thanks to my beloved parents Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Raymond who invested trust and confidence in my early works. Thanks also to my beloved wife, Claudelle Saint-fleur whom I met nine years ago and fell in love with my poetry. She continues to feed my heart with images, symbolism, metaphors, and essence of love that even Juliet was lacked.

As I...

As I walk through the pathway
Of your sacred beauty on a silent
Night with bouquets of holy hope
In my poor little tender heart,
I splinter the new moon into words
To convey, while in bed,
The dazzling spectrum of an unappeased romance.
As I look through the lenses of your filtered dreams of passion,
I see an emerald sky open its golden gate
To welcome us as two falling stones in the river of love.
As I look at you, Dedelle, I hope
Shying away my shyness to put on
The apron of a sincere sentiment.
Of lust, love, trust, and commitment
As I look at you, I hope to conquer
Your world of passion and enjoy every bit of it
And make a holy potion to cure my soul
From my incurable doubts of conveying my true love
To the woman of my lingering dreams.

Beautiful Butterfly

Beautiful butterfly, fly while you can.
Fly across my happiness and anguish.
Fly in my beloved darken sky and unfold
The reluctant clouds of my inspiration.
Fly around me as to shuffle my despair
While awaiting patiently for you to perch
At the climax of my heart surrounded
By the warmth of your trust and faith.
As you might know, life is a straight road
With so many unexpected curves within.
When we take for granted its smoothness
It surprises us with sudden detours.
However, if one has what it takes to love
And be loved, confusion, doubt, and remorse
Have no place in a tender and loving heart.

On August 5th...

Of love revolves her character.
Of reason all sums up in delight.
Of tears all flows with passion
To vehemently tickle her beauty
Irresistible and precious.
On August 5th, as my soul drains
In honeyed steamlet of romance
I revealed my true emotion in God's eyes
And said "yes I do" and became her husband
I yielded my fears to fill up her sky
With stars that would melt every residue
Of my doubt into a river of lust
Exclusive only to you, Dedell my love.
Again and again I must openly confess
My weakness to your burning feelings
To accept you as the gatekeeper of my soul.
