Peter James

New York City, New York

Working as a waiter in various restaurants, coffee shops, and diners has presented me the opportunity to serve my all time favorite ladies Olympic Gold medal winner and world Professional Champion Kristi Yamaguchi.  It was an unexpected event to say the least and one that generated immense joy, satisfaction and exhilaration.  It was a lovely surprise- it was a pleasing surprise.  I did not ever expect to meet her, let alone be her waiter.  In essence, life has many moments of surprise, wonder, joy and fascination where the impossible is possible and the improbable is probable.  View the unique offerings with a child's eye and these moments and feelings will remain with you forever clear, vivid, and breathtakingly beautiful.  It's a long haul in life and a rough ride at times. They'll be needed in the darkest hour.  Who knows?  I may get to serve my favorite gymnast, ladies champion Amy Chow.

Destruct Or Construct My Heart?

When your true love
is one
Your day is light and
bright, as the sun

But when your love
has run
Your day is dark, as
the night, undone.

Our Children's Inheritance

"How do we achieve peace?", asks a young child
The whole world seems to be so very wild

What can I tell you son, that you don't know
It's the "grown-ups" that don't want you to grow

Perhaps, if those in power had to fight
The blasting bombs could change their faulty sight

I weep and cry now with you, my sun
Your life is not their light, as is, the gun

It's the old and feeble men who talk tough
But it's my son and yours that will act rough

After they come home, as pieces of clay
All "leaders" pin a badge and shout, "Hooray!"

"We were provoked to fight", is the angle
But it's dirty money that will mangle

My friend, what can I say, to your young son?
He'll go back to ash, while power, has fun.

A Body To Use
Tonight ( In a disco)

In darkness, a glance
You see me, you don't
Eyes meet, eyes reveal
Soon to end, what just
Began, in a flash
The night together,
As one, to
Spend
Morning comes soon
You can't see me again.

Who Needs A Reason
To Love Somebody?

There is no logic
in  love
And there is no love
in logic

Alive, But Not Well

Let us one and all
Help our Earth to heal
And stop using her body
As a fast food meal
