Penny Johnson

Penny Johnson is a Free-lance Writer and Poet. She has been published Nationally and Internationally. She is an Advisor to The International Society of Poets. Her awards include 15 Editor's Choice awards from The National Library of Poetry. She is a semi-finalist in the North American Poetry Open. Many of her poems are on cassettes and she has an Honorary Doctor of Letters from London, England. Penny says, "Poetry is the song poet's sing to beautify the whole world."

The Purpose of A Poet

When a poet writes about under-
standing, happiness and joy,
It is an art because it comes
from the poet's heart
But
When a poet writes about love
It comes straight down from
God, up above
