Born in London 9 August 1913, I spent much of my working life, up to retirement, at the London Headquarters of the Electricity Generating Industry.
Having married late in life, I had no children, but am "adopted Granny" to 3 girls - Lisa, Jonna and Helen, and 3 boys, Richard, Christopher and Benjamin.
I am a committed Christian, and the poems I write - now under the pen name "Peggy C." are all inspired by God. It was God who gave me the first poem that introduced me to The International Society of Poets, of which organization I am now a member.

Chosen

If at some time you are chosen
To do special work for the Lord
Just remember - when chosen you're special
Because you believe in His word.

There's a host of tasks out there waiting
For someone God trusts to perform
It may be some ordinary everyday thing
Or not what for you would be "norm".

But whatever it is, do accept it
Don't say "Oh, I can't" and then hide;
When God gives a task to you - His own child
He'll be right there by you side.

He'll show you just how to do it
And be with you through to the end.
For God always keeps His promises -
On that you can surely depend.

For our God is a wonderful Father
Who's thrilled when His children obey;
So do what he asks - and enjoy it
And do it without any delay.

Make Time To Pray

A time of prayer with God each day
Is absolutely vital
How easy otherwise to go astray
But don't make your prayers a "recital."

Speak to the Lord as you would to a friend,
For that is what He'll always be
No better, more faithful
A friend can one have -
Remember He gave up on his life just to save
Sinners like you and like me.

Give Him the thanks, the praise and the glory
That are His in His very own right.
His love for you is unending -
He'll never lose you from His sight.

His arm's always there to uphold you,
To take you through trials thick and thin;
When you do something wrong,
Quietly tell Him,
He'll always be quick to forgive you
When you repent and confess your sin.

So don't let a day pass
Without coming in prayer
To our Father in Heaven
Who is always there.

To A Snowdrop

Dainty little Snowdrop
Peeping through the snow
You are so beautiful and white
How gracefully you grow.

Dear, dainty little Snowdrop
So brave for one so small
You push your way through the hard, hard soil
To give pleasure to us all.

Beautiful little Snowdrop
You are a harbinger of Spring
We know full well when you are gone
Other flowers will begin.

But for all the beauty of other flowers
There are none that compare
With you, dear little Snowdrop
So dainty and so fair.

And so dear little Snowdrop
Your beauty will always shine
And give us mortals pleasure
Time after time after time.
