Patrick H. Peery

Hooker, Oklahoma

On December 24,1965 I was severely injured in an automobile accident, that left me unable to work for the rest of my natural life. However! In the year of 1981, I was married, and in 1982, I fathered one child, my son, Patrick Joe Peery! Then came the year of 1986 when I got divorced. For five years after, I helped the learning disabled students in Hooker High School so they could go on and graduate from school. Through a blessing from God above, I found myself to be better able to express myself through my writing of song lyrics and poetry! Thus far I have received several awards from The National Library of Poetry, as well as The World of Poetry, too! Right now, I have had two poems published, one in the World Book of Poetry, and one in The National Library of Poetry, too!

Takes Two

It takes two of some things in order to make one complete something!
It takes one never ending try and a firm belief in one's self-before an
accomplishment is finally made.
It takes light to make dark right to make wrong,
and love to make hate!
Man and wife to make mom and dad and create a new
little life, early to make late!
It has been said before in generations long before
my time, possibly long after too!
It has been before by one but
if its really going to be accomplished.
It takes two!

Poems Wanted

Poems are still on the most wanted list,
Hanging on ever post office wall!
The crime they committed is expression
of ones love for another.
Such as father and mother, sister, or brother,
and that's not all!
Also! Poems wanted are guilty of mail fraud.
Instead of simply verbalizing your appreciating for
the kind and loving act of another.
Poems wanted! was put on paper put in a white envelope stamped
dropped in the mail box addressed to
friend, mother, father, sister ,or
brother!
Poems wanted are still on the most wanted list.
Still waiting to be caught by Another!
