Patricia Cox Napoli is a pen name. Patricia Cox Napoli was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 27, 1938. She was the youngest of nine children of George and Agnes Cox. Some of the books that contain her poetry are: Celebrating Excellence, Achieving Excellence, The Yale Review, Musings, and The Best of Feelings. Patricia says: "The most important thing in life is love. It encompasses love of God, self, family, country, and your fellow man, no matter what color or race. And poetry expresses that love in so many diversified ways." Patricia lost her husband in 1995 after 29 years of marriage and found it difficult to write afterwards for he was truly her soul mate. Even now, she feels his presence, and it is for this reason she has her picture with him alongside her, knowing that one day they will be together in eternity for true love never dies.

Baby Love Unaware

I thought I would be so very loved
And longed to meet my little brother
But then I was violently aborted
And never got to know my mother

The pain was so unbearable
My tiny body ripped apart
How could a baby be so terrible
And how could they break my tiny heart

In heaven, I still love my mom and dad
and I guess I'll never understand
Why they made me so sad
And never gave me a chance

I can still forgive them anyway
The pain in my heart hurts no more
and I long to meet them one day
Hoping I will be loved and loved forevermore

Let's Give Peace A Chance

Can peace be attained in a war-torn world
Or is his a dream never to be fulfilled
Could war be replaced as love unfolds
Is there a special secret yet to reveal

I say we must all give peace a chance
No matter what obstacles lie in the way
For even Christ when pierced by the lance
Could still forgive mankind anyway

We must all walk with our brother hand in hand
It does not matter though he be white, red or black
Be forever ready to solve conflicts when we can
Seek peace in the future, forgive and not look back

Ghandi taught love and peace and so did Martin Luther King
Wars still came since hearts refused to reflect and listen
And in the past another tried and they crucified him
So you must show love and give peace a chance to glisten

And whether you are Catholic, Protestant or Jew
Give peace a chance, over and over, again and again
Let God take reign in your heart, making all things new
Thereby making all races, colors and creeds your friend

Reflection For Peace Minus War

We have to look at man's many past mistakes
If we are to improve our country's fate
In the past so many, many lives were lost
And, of course, we will never forget the Holocaust

Time and Time again men and women are injured in war
With refugees fleeing as gunshots soar
Yet we never seem to see any possible end
Wars just come, over and over, again and again

We've had more than our share of Hitler and Stalin
Never forgetting the terrible reign of Saddam Hussein
The world would be blessed if a dictator we'd never see
There would be less war, pain, death, and no refugees.
