Hi, my name is Olga Batista and I love writing poetry. I guess I like writing poetry because I think it's nice and you can actually express your feelings. Besides writing poetry I like to sing. I also sing at my church. I was inspired to write poetry because my mother used to write poetry and she used to read them to me. Now, I'm an executive secretary and on my spare time I do what I love and that is to write poetry. I got married to a wonderful man and he is a News Reporter. Most of my poetry is based upon how I feel about my family, especially my four children, Solange, Steve, Stewart and Stephanie.

The Statue Of Liberty

I want to be
like the Statue of Liberty
and whoever comes to me
I would let them in

I want to be in an Solitary Island
and in the daytime
everybody who enters and exits

La, la, la, la,
la, la, la, la,

I want to always have my torch lit
and I want to make you
what I've made of my like

I want to have a crown in my head
and I want to be New York greatest princess.

I want to think with my mind
everything that I wanted
and if you don't like it turn your head
my feelings can take me
anywhere up to the sky
and bring me back down in a star.

La, la, la, la, la, la, la

From The Empire State

I want to go to the top of the Empire State
and scream from up there how much I love him.

All the building they have in New York
listen my voice and scream I love.

I want to see the Empire State
full of a lot light of different colors
voices whistles and drums
I want to tell you how big is my love.

With a lot of languages that people speak in New York
between a lot of people I declare my love.

I would tell you in Spanish and English too
in Russian and Chinese and same in French and Italian
then I'll learn in all languages I will love you.

The red I want to see the Empire State
the day do you said you love me
from the Empire State, from the Empire State.

A True Princess

Princess Diana, Princess Diana
like you there's nobody
and there will be nobody like you tomorrow.

Princess Diana, Princess
with you soul filled with kindness
with those hands that do not fear
you can touch reality.

You showed me not to fear a disease
and to fight for the good and the human rights
you showed me with your sweet heart
that a princess can be love and
a princess can share her love.

Princess Diana, Princess Diana
like you there's nobody
and there will be nobody like you tomorrow
you were the only one in humanity
and the whole world your a sweet memory
Princess Diana, Princess Diana
a true Princess.
