One Small Grain Of Sand

Vast forces of water, oceans deep
Can be considered so
As being held in place by one
Insignificant grain of sand.
Established by a perpetual decree
His Name is great in power and might.
The sea may toss but it cannot pass
A permanent boundary of sand.
Coupled to others equally formed
Hold back the waves that roar
Placed there by God's discretion,
One small grain of sand.

A Quiet Song

Once, by chance, a quiet song drifted,
Softly, it could hardly be heard,
A light breeze lifted it, played with it,
Instilling a moment of joy.
I listened, just beyond reach there,
Not much more than a hushed whisper,
Like a spider's thread, in and out
Of sight, comes and goes, now and then.
All too soon, like a night vision,
A cloud that floats across the earth,
Vanish, disappear like shadows,
Never to be heard again.

As A Rose Unfolding

As a rose unfolding
Soft to the gentle breeze
Bent to greater beauty
So is my love for you.
Hidden between the garden
And the stairway to the porch
It's beauty must be sought for
Or it unfolds sad and alone.
As a rose unfolding
Offers gentle peace and rest
As a rose unfolding
So is my love for you.
