The Soul And The Sea

How the sea renews the body, mind and soul.
In the vastness of this spectacular view
We are reminded of the eternal width
Depth and breadth of life.
There are no beginnings, no endings, no boundaries
Only the eternal ebb and flow that no human can control.
Many have tried and many more will try until the end of
time.
Men rise up and seek control
Control over life, control over lands and dominions
Even control over the heavens and earth
Men seek control through acquisitions, aggression, and
anger.
They seek control through baseness, belittlement and bribery
Through chastisement, confrontation and criticism
Through denial, delegation and despotism.
The list goes from A to Z in ways men have tried to
control
But the human spirit is much like the sea.
The more one tries to control it
The more it seeks to be free...

THE SONG IN THE AIR

There is a song in the air

I can hear it everywhere

Not just the birds and the bees,

But rocks, grass, flowers, and trees.

They sing their own song

As we go along.

But we must listen to hear

The love, the beauty the cheer

What would life be

With no rock, grass, flower or tree?

So listen and hear the gentle refrain

Sung by all nature again and again.

Memories

I awoke to the sights and sounds of the sea
The lapping of waves on the sand,
The chirping and fluttering of sea gulls swooping down
For their morning feast.
The laughter of children jumping into the waves like fish.
A saw the beautiful fabrics
The colors reflected in a thousand mirrors.
I was enveloped in a sea of blue.
The sky, the sea and the perfectly matched.
Perfectly executed designs of God and man
Put together to create one of those magic moments
We mortals call " memories"
How can one thank God for life and all creation?
How can one thank one's family for its existence- its being?
how can one thank friends for friendship and the sharing
Of a special moment of whatever we have and whatever we are
With whoever we meet along the way and say;
Where have you been all my life?
This is called Life this is called Love
This I believe, is what we are created for.
