I just began writing poetry about two years back. My very first poem, "Illusion of Right," won the "Editor's Choice Award" for 95/96. My second poem was published in the "Best Poems of the 90s." Both poems were selected for the "Sound of Poetry." I am a merchant seaman (Master Mariner) by profession. I've spent a great many years traveling round the world. I enjoy meeting people and making friends. I am interested in human nature for being the loveliest yet strangest and most unpredictable animal in the world. Other writings: A few poems and a book "Rainbow of Death" fiction based on true marine adventure, unpublished as of yet. I have been married for the last twenty-four years, enjoy heavenly family life. Wife, Tanvir, entered like a bright ray of light in the realm of darkness and illuminated life. Four offsprings, two sons and two daughters. Living a happy life in somewhat an unhappy world.

Desire To Play God

Once I asked the Farroh "Why proclaimed God?
Just a particle of dust and that's all you are
Someday you will fall and get lost in the past
You are a man after all, like anyone on earth
You eat like a man, you drink like a man
All your needs are like those of a man.
"Why! But you never stopped me." The Farroh smiled.
"You bow down before me and I get the thrill
I push you down more, you go down on you knees
I push you further down and you kiss the ground.
And by God! That's what makes me feel like God".
"But that is not fair." I protected with fear
"Ah! What nonsense is fair!" The Farroh frowned.
"There is a God in every man, however you deny
You are a God for those whomever you command
All you need is power, power over human being
The more power that you get the more drunk you are.
It is too intoxicating for you and me to digest.
Once you get the power, with no limits and bounds
You won't be what you are You too will play God."
I looked into my own soul, there the worst Farroh is hidden.
Starving and striving, with greed and lust,
For power, power over human being.

Who Created Who

God created man or man created God, who created who? Never ending strife
God never needed man yet the universe keeps on moving with supreme precision.
Man always needed God for his spiritual want
However logic defies, spirit submits to sublime
Because human spirit abhors spiritual vacuum.
Some worship the creator, some worship creatures, some care for none, Some do it just for fun, some are content with one, some go for more than one
Some carve even millions yet starve for more.
Who believes what, what difference does it make
Everyone is right within one's narrow sight,
All the rest are wrong who fall beyond the sight.
What is right for one may turn wrong for others
Rational irrational, logic illogic, sense nonsense deceiving perceptions!
Falls convictions! Every nuisance on earth caused by none but man
What nonsense is man with few tiny cells of sense
Thinks himself full of sense.

Illusion Of Right

Fight for the right with all your might
What is right is what you think is right! Is it right?
The only right is the right of the might
Cain was right Abel was right, Churchill was right Hitler was right,
Wolf is right, Rabit is right. Right of the beast!
You are right, I am also right, both are right yet we fight!
But what is the right? Who knows what is the right,
Just fight for what you think is right. Illusion of right!
Look for the right, might it be on the other side.
Alas! Human mind is too narrow to see the whole and absolute right.
Strive for right beyond the shadows of illusion
Stunned by phenomenal narrowness of mind
Every right is wrong, every wrong is right depends how one sees the right.
What an awful shame! Right is raped by might.
