Wilma D. Barrett

United Kingdom

I was born on 5th October 1944 in The Royal Burgh of Pebbles in Scottish Borders. I am a home help. I'll be married for 25 years on 8th April 1997 to Tony Barrett. I do a lot of charity work and love gardening. As a Christian, I believe my talent for poetry is a gift from God. It's a joy to write because it gives others pleasure too. I've often written poems for special occasions for family and friends. May my poetry be an inspiration to those who read it. Most of my poetry is based on my personal experiences.

Positive Thoughts

Things are never as bad as they seem
Even when you are feeling blue
And your life is full of ups and downs.
Here is what you should do
Look for the sun which comes after rain
Count your blessings again and again
Learn to accept what comes your way
Ask God for grace to help you each day
A roof over your head a bed and food
If you have good friends are healthy that's good
All of us get a cross we must bear
But we're never alone God is always there.

Search and Find

All those years that I was blind
I searched and searched but could not find.
A lasting joy, a peace that would stay
For more than a week, a month or a day
I thought the world could give me it all
But then one day I heard the Lord call
Repent and I'll cleanse you and free you from sin
I stand here and knock please let me come in
Give me your heart come follow me
I'll give you a peace and joy you'll see
Troubles and problems may still appear
But I'll be there with you never fear
God is all powerful he is everywhere
He loves us so much He really does care
Share the gospel salvation if free
It's true Jesus died for you and for me
Life is unpredictable please don't wait
Accept God's gift now before it's too late.
