Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, UK

I was born 31.1.1960 in Ladywood Birmingham. My parents are Dennis and Beyrl Lilley, and I am the proud mother of three wonderful sons: Ian, John, and James. In my spare time I like to read and write poetry, tend my garden and help raise money for charities, which have included a parashute jump and a walk from my Birmingham home to Devon. My inspirations come in many forms beautiful scenery and old castles I adore, but my love for humanity if far greater poetry "is" life, and will always be part of my life.

Words

Sweetness in sugar
Spice is quite nice
Eligance is attained
And with dignity comes pride
Silk and satin are an ambiance of taste
Luxury and east are topped with grace
Money is adorned and silence is gold
Life is a rainbow or so I am told
Poetry is words and word is verse
It sounds out aloud through the whole universe
Flights of fancy come easy to me
And imagination is clear to see
Positive reaction can climb so high
Aiming ambitions can positively fly
A word is a wonder and wonder I do
Searching for a poem for me and for you
Attractive are words in stillness of peace
Gliding along on a thin paper sheet
Echoes of the past are history bound
Just like a book that give vision insight
Heartfelt they are what a wonderful delight.

Especially For Me

Play me a tune so I can hear
Ballards of love that disappear
Into the night with the wind and
The rain and softly in sunlight
Appearing again dancing upon song
With violin and bow a melody so
Sweet a romance in toe the still
Lakes of life lie dormant you see
But the harp plays a tune especailly
For me.
