Louise Sempey

Ballyclare, CO. Antrim, N.Ireland

I was born 30th September 1978 in Belfast, youngest child of Maureen and Robert Sempey. I have been writing poetry for a few years now and enjoy it immensely. I find poetry is a great way of expressing my feeling when I find things hard to say. Writing poetry helps me cope with the problems I've been having since I was hit by an illness 2 years ago which has left me disabled and unable to get about on my own (with hope that it's only temporary).

You're Never Alone

Cowering in the corner, shivering with fear,
As the shadows formed and began to grow near.
Out of the darkness shone a great light.
High in the sky enrapturing the night.

The light had shone to guide me home.
From where I'd been lost.
The place where I'd roamed.
A place I thought would capture my soul,
Make my life more complete, take on a new role.

But I soon found that this could never be so,
Without the solitude of my humble abode,
Among family I love, the people who care,
And the warmth in my heart...
Knowing they'll always be there.

Eternal Love

Love encircle me, keep me from harm.
Let your warm flow of emotions wrap round me like arms.
Show me the way, guide me tonight
into a world of goodness without trouble and fights.
Let me experience feeling love in my heart.
A love that never hurts, wounds like a dart.
The love that is felt between woman and man,
growing with each day. With each touch of the hand,
A love not just emotional but physical too.
With a special type of bonding
between hearts that are true.
Bless me with this love, not just moments whiled away.
But the love that brings a lifetime of bliss...
...From now til eternity.
