The Harvest

Harvest time is here --
the end of a bountiful year
of sowing and reaping.
How blest are we, oh, God,
to have tilled the sod
and beheld the fertile soil
bring forth the crops.

You sent the sun and the rain
to nourish the corn, the grain,
vegetables and fruits.
We watched them grow,
row on row.
Your tender care kept us strong and
able to tend the land,
from which comes our living.
Without you, we'd have no
harvest to enjoy.

We feast in celebration ---
with grateful hearts and elation.
Thank you, Lord, for the mercy and love
you've showered on us from above.

One Prayer

God, grant us one prayer
--- the joy of knowing love,
the union of it,
a son or daughter
we two shall covet,
and, in spite of faddish sneer,
guide us with love
through every year
in a happy, unbroken home
with old fashioned atmosphere.
Don't let the unchecked
Brutality of Man
destroy your Unity of Plan.

Sister, Brother

O, God, let us not destroy our land.
Save us from War's fate.
Teach Man the way of peace
before it is too late.

Let us love one another,
call each other, "Sister, Brother".
Join our hands in one accord,
as decreed by Holy Word.

Give us joy and calm instead
of blood, strife, tears and dread.
Lead us in Your pathway bright.
Preserve our Nation in all that's right.
