I am a housewife. I have three grown daughters and two grandsons, A.J. and Ryan, and one granddaughter, Makayla. My husband's name is Archie. My girls are Penny, Helen and Tina. We live in the country. I have always enjoyed writing. I have several poems already published by The National Library of Poetry. I consider it a great honor to be chosen to be included in this museum. I write about God, children, parents and love of life.

A Rose For My Mother

A rose for my mother,
That's all she asks of me,
For a lifetime of trouble
She had raising me.

A rose for my mother,
Whom God gave to me,
She spent her life raising children,
And we're all grateful as can be.

So I bought a rose for mother,
That I gave to her, with pride,
And I said, I love you mother,
And I thank you for my life,

And mother, if I had bought all the roses,
To give to you, from me,
There would be so many,
They would fill up a tree,

But you, wouldn't want that many,
As you've often said to me,
One, would be a plenty,
If they came, from you to me.

This Is For Daddy

Today is Father's Day
But Dad's no longer here,
He had to go and leave us
When we all loved him so dear.
But, Dad, you've not forgotten
Nor will you ever be,
Because we sure do miss you
And love you, oh so dear.
We wish you were still with us
But we know you had to go,
Cause God felt He needed you
More than us below.
We know that we will see you
Again before too long,
But know that we still love you
And wish that you were here.
