My name is Mary Helen Spinks O'Neal. My pen name is Miss Courage. My nickname is Mae Helen after a white woman, Helen Thomas. I was born in Moscow in Fayette County, TN. I was raised on a large farm, by my cousins Laura B. Sales and Irma Franklin. My parents are Rose Spinks and Luster Spinks. I am divorced from Charles O'Neal. I have 2 kids: Charla O'Neal and Charles O'Neal Jr who married Dana O'Neal and gave me one grandchild, La Donis. I have 12 siblings, 3 sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law. My family church is New Bethel & New Zion. My awards and honors include Editor's Choice Awards and a Song Writer Achievement award (as well as The International Poetry Hall of Fame). I have a variety of interests and talents including movies, improvisation, books, greeting cards, majorettes, owner of a race horse, dental assisting, and a lifetime poet.

Good Looking

Good looking, is what God gave me
Good looking is what God creative on me.
Because it was the birth of his look and
History and Beautiful!
I wasn't the world's greatest good looking.
But I stood outstanding among the rich and famous.
And very attractive some peoples envious looks.
But God gave me the good look.
It didn't change my look.
It made me outstanding and great!
