Jonesborough, Tennessee

I have been writing poetry since I was in High school. I work as a certified nursing assistant at Lake Bridge Health Care Center and love my work very much. I love life and this beautiful world that God created. There is beauty in everything. You just have to look for it.

An Ordinary Man

This man I love so very much
Is really a special breed
He's just an ordinary man
But one with a special need

A special need to love and be loved
To show someone he cares
And have that someone show him too
They have a love to share

He's kind and gentle in a tender way
Understanding the dreams that I choose
But he's just an ordinary man
Someone I don't want to lose

He's a hard working honest man
There's so much he wants for me
And he'll give all he can give
Yet there is much more to be

The children we have reflect so much
This man that I call mine
For in their faces I can see
Our love every time

But he's just on ordinary man
He'll never be rich famous or rare
That's all right with me
I love him he knows I care

You Roughly Love Me

You pull me down and roughly love me
Then you quickly turn away
Not a kind or tender word
Do you ever have to say

That's the way it's been for years now
The same thing every night
You take me then you leave me
Just like turning out a light

There's just one thing a missing
In this love affair
The feelings that I want and need
The love we never share

So keep this in your mind somewhere
Someday it will surely be
When I will give you back
The love you have given me

I'll pull you down and roughly love you
And then I'll walk away
Good - bye is the only word
You will ever hear me say
