Mary Angela has completed doctoral studies at The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (1995). She has published two poetry books: My Ontario Beautiful (1995) and Woman in Exile (1991) with the Mellen Poetry Press. Her poetry is featured in several anthologies published by The National Library of Poetry including "Best Poems of the 90's," "Best Poems of 1997," and "Best Poems of 1998" and has received nine Editor's Choice Awards. The metacognitive strategy "Being Metaphor" has evolved through her poetry and is central for the development of Human Potential and to harness the Human Shadow. She is an artist, a Gifted Program teacher with Toronto Catholic School Board, President of EDGO (Educators of the Gifted in Ontario), and is listed in the "International Who's Who in Poetry and Poets' Encyclopedia 1997, Eighth Edition." Mary Angela says: "Self-expression through the arts unravels mystery and shapes the human spirit's tendency toward wholeness." |
