Marie Ortiz

Barstow, California

I am a homemaker, married to a retired U.S. Marine. I have three children and three grandchildren, one bird, five dogs, and three cats. I have many hobbies, but writing poetry is my favorite. I have written poetry for a few years. I love Angels, and especially enjoy writing poetry about these heavenly creatures. I have received some awards for doing much volunteer work for my community. My favorite charities are helping the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and donating toys and stuffed animals to the Police Dept. for children that are less fortunate then others. I am a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and have done ministry for the elderly, a program provided by my church. My poetry has been published by the National Library of Poetry (Frost at Midnight) and recorded on tape (Sound of Poetry) "It makes me very happy to be able to touch a heart with my poetry. I feel it was a special talent given to me, meant to share with others."

Angels Kiss

When an angel sends
a kiss your way
the sweetness of its
love will stay.
As it blows into the
wind and you feel a
gentle touch.
Remember its your
angel saying.
I love you very much

Angel Watching

Do not despair when
you are blue.
For there's an angel
watching you!

Three Simple Gifts

If you see someone
along the way.
Give a simple smile today
a gentle touch and a
kind deed.
Can also be a special need
So share these gifts
from God above.
And touch someone
With his sweet love

Angel On Your Shoulder

When you think you're all alone
and troubles come your way
There's an angel on your shoulder
To guide you everyday.
With a white light
Shining brightly
To protect you day and night
This angel on your shoulder.
Will never leave your sight.

Little Angels

Little Angels all around.
Come to help without a sound
You can feel them everywhere
When you need them
They are there.

Pennies

When you find a penny.
It's an angels kiss to you
So keep it in your pocket.
To make your dreams come true.

Raindrops & Rainbows

Take one day at a time
Do not worry about tomorrow
It may be joy
It may be sorrow
But every raindrop
Has a rainbow
Waiting just for you
All dark clouds soon fade away
As Love & Happiness come to stay
